The First Communion, or First Holy Communion, is a Catholic Church ceremony. It is the colloquial name for a person's first reception of the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist. Catholics believe this event to be very important, as the Eucharist is one of the central focuses of the Catholic Church. The Eucharist being a "symbolic" meal to a meal of "remembering" Christ's last supper. First Communion for the Roman Catholic churches typically takes place at age seven or eight, depending on the country.
The whole family had been preparing for this special day, it is our Dominique's First Holy Communion. From fulfilling all the requirements asked by the St. Anne's Church from the parents of the first communicant to buying things like white dress, white shoes, as well as white hairdress for our 1st princess. All these had really consumed many of our weekends particularly the succeeding Sundays before the event.
Then finally, the day came, it was Sunday, 5th of September 2010, we woke up early as we have to be in the church at 9:00 am. Much as I tried to make everything smooth sailing, some hiccups still pop-up like Nica's white stocking got some damage so I had to improvise, then the rain pour as we were about to go to the church so that slow us down because Nica was wearing all white. Still, over all, it was a blessed memorable experience for all of us specially to our beautiful daughter Dominique.
